E3 2014 Day 2: Nintendo meets Robot Chicken

Before I mention the games, let me say that Nintendo’s “Digital Event” had me smiling and giggling with joy within the first couple of seconds. They decided to use a Robot Chicken (a clay-mation show of Cartoon Network) aesthetic to open their Digital Event. It was pretty funny! Then, an epic fight scene was shown between the two chiefs of Nintendo, Reggie Fils-Aime and Satoru Iwata. Nintendo did not hold back at all for the first game shown was Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii U and 3DS. The rundown: Mii characters are now playable with three classifications; Mii Brawler, Swordfighter, and Gunner. The gameplay was pretty legit. Also, “Amiibo” was announced. They are basically Skylander game pieces but, with Nintendo brand characters. Brawl comes to 3DS on October 3, 2014 and to Wii U Holiday 2014. Next up, Yoshi meets or rather eats yarn in new game, Yoshi’s Woolly World coming 2015. The Legend of Zelda has a new fancy trailer with an expansive open world coming 2015. Bayonetta 2 comes bundled with the first Bayonetta releasing October 2014 for the Wii U. Then, you have Hyrule Warriors which was announced at last year’s E3, but this time Nintendo elaborated a little bit more about gameplay mechanics. Released September 26,2014. Using Kirby as a pink wrecking ball again in 3DS title, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse coming in 2015. Xenoblade Chronicles presented itself well and so did Mario Maker (a game creator using Mario platforming and characters). Both coming in 2015. Lastly, Splatoon is a new territorial FPS IP that actually looks pretty fun. Its a 4v4 action game in which the objective is who can come the play field in the most paint. Also, did I mention that Plautena Alights is a fighter in Brawl. If not then, there you go. Overall, I laughed my ass off and watched a co-worker geek out the entire press conference to the point of utter silence and disbelief what was being announced. Nintendo I know that the gaming community has quite upset with you  because of the lack of content coming to the Wii U and 3DS. You proved today that there is some fight left in you guys. Go forth and conquer Nintendo! WHA WOOOOOOO!!! *Mario voice*
